ACORN - Is anyone watching?

I find the following statement located on the Acorn.org website to be a joke..."ACORN is a non-profit, non-partisan social justice organization with national headquarters in New York, New Orleans and Washington, D.C. To maintain independence, ACORN does not accept government funding and is not tax exempt. "

First I would like to point out that on the first page of their website there is an article titled "ACORN Response to the First Presidential Debate" slams McCain and Praises Obama. I am not sure how that falls under their "nonj-partisan" banner.

The other thing that made me want to laugh (or throw a brick at the computer) is the part that a says "does not accept government funding." Congress has been battling all weekend, partially because the democrats were trying to allocate 20% of any profits received in the future from the 700 billion dollar ballout to be funnelled to ACORN.

Does anyone care anymore what is going on in our country?

If you do care and would like to do something contact:

ACORN
1024 Elysian Fields Ave
New Orleans, LA 70117
chieforg@acorn.org
Phone: 504-943-0044
Fax: 504-944-7078

And tell them this is unacceptable. You may want to also contact Nancy Pelosi and let her know how you feel about them trying to sneek millions and millions of dollars into the ACORN account.
