Mitt Romney's Speech
Following is the speech that Mitt Romney gave today in regards to the bombardment of questions he has been asked regarding his Morman faith.
"Thank you, Mr. President, for your kind introduction.
"It is an honor to be here today. This is an inspiring place because of you and the First Lady and because of the film exhibited across the way in the Presidential library. For those who have not seen it, it shows the President as a young pilot, shot down during the Second World War, being rescued from his life-raft by the crew of an American submarine. It is a moving reminder that when America has faced challenge and peril, Americans rise to the occasion, willing to risk their very lives to defend freedom and preserve our nation. We are in your debt. Thank you, Mr. President.
"Mr. President, your generation rose to the occasion, first to defeat Fascism and then to vanquish the Soviet Union. You left us, your children, a free and strong America. It is why we call yours the greatest generation. It is now my generation's turn. How we respond to today's challenges will define our generation. And it will determine what kind of America we will leave our children, and theirs.
"America faces a new generation of challenges. Radical violent Islam seeks to destroy us. An emerging China endeavors to surpass our economic leadership. And we are troubled at home by government overspending, overuse of foreign oil, and the breakdown of the family.
"Over the last year, we have embarked on a national debate on how best to preserve American leadership. Today, I wish to address a topic which I believe is fundamental to America's greatness: our religious liberty. I will also offer perspectives on how my own faith would inform my Presidency, if I were elected.
"There are some who may feel that religion is not a matter to be seriously considered in the context of the weighty threats that face us. If so, they are at odds with the nation's founders, for they, when our nation faced its greatest peril, sought the blessings of the Creator. And further, they discovered the essential connection between the survival of a free land and the protection of religious freedom. In John Adams’ words: 'We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion... Our constitution was made for a moral and religious people.'
"Freedom requires religion just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone.
"Given our grand tradition of religious tolerance and liberty, some wonder whether there are any questions regarding an aspiring candidate's religion that are appropriate. I believe there are. And I will answer them today.
"Almost 50 years ago another candidate from Massachusetts explained that he was an American running for president, not a Catholic running for president. Like him, I am an American running for president. I do not define my candidacy by my religion. A person should not be elected because of his faith nor should he be rejected because of his faith.
"Let me assure you that no authorities of my church, or of any other church for that matter, will ever exert influence on presidential decisions. Their authority is theirs, within the province of church affairs, and it ends where the affairs of the nation begin.
"As governor, I tried to do the right as best I knew it, serving the law and answering to the Constitution. I did not confuse the particular teachings of my church with the obligations of the office and of the Constitution – and of course, I would not do so as President. I will put no doctrine of any church above the plain duties of the office and the sovereign authority of the law.
"As a young man, Lincoln described what he called America's 'political religion' – the commitment to defend the rule of law and the Constitution. When I place my hand on the Bible and take the oath of office, that oath becomes my highest promise to God. If I am fortunate to become your president, I will serve no one religion, no one group, no one cause, and no one interest. A President must serve only the common cause of the people of the United States.
"There are some for whom these commitments are not enough. They would prefer it if I would simply distance myself from my religion, say that it is more a tradition than my personal conviction, or disavow one or another of its precepts. That I will not do. I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers – I will be true to them and to my beliefs.
"Some believe that such a confession of my faith will sink my candidacy. If they are right, so be it. But I think they underestimate the American people. Americans do not respect believers of convenience.
Americans tire of those who would jettison their beliefs, even to gain the world.
"There is one fundamental question about which I often am asked. What do I believe about Jesus Christ? I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind. My church's beliefs about Christ may not all be the same as those of other faiths. Each religion has its own unique doctrines and history. These are not bases for criticism but rather a test of our tolerance. Religious tolerance would be a shallow principle indeed if it were reserved only for faiths with which we agree.
"There are some who would have a presidential candidate describe and explain his church's distinctive doctrines. To do so would enable the very religious test the founders prohibited in the Constitution. No candidate should become the spokesman for his faith. For if he becomes President he will need the prayers of the people of all faiths.
"I believe that every faith I have encountered draws its adherents closer to God. And in every faith I have come to know, there are features I wish were in my own: I love the profound ceremony of the Catholic Mass, the approachability of God in the prayers of the Evangelicals, the tenderness of spirit among the Pentecostals, the confident independence of the Lutherans, the ancient traditions of the Jews, unchanged through the ages, and the commitment to frequent prayer of the Muslims. As I travel across the country and see our towns and cities, I am always moved by the many houses of worship with their steeples, all pointing to heaven, reminding us of the source of life's blessings.
"It is important to recognize that while differences in theology exist between the churches in America, we share a common creed of moral convictions. And where the affairs of our nation are concerned, it's usually a sound rule to focus on the latter – on the great moral principles that urge us all on a common course. Whether it was the cause of abolition, or civil rights, or the right to life itself, no movement of conscience can succeed in America that cannot speak to the convictions of religious people.
"We separate church and state affairs in this country, and for good reason. No religion should dictate to the state nor should the state interfere with the free practice of religion. But in recent years, the notion of the separation of church and state has been taken by some well beyond its original meaning. They seek to remove from the public domain any acknowledgment of God. Religion is seen as merely a private affair with no place in public life. It is as if they are intent on establishing a new religion in America – the religion of secularism. They are wrong.
"The founders proscribed the establishment of a state religion, but they did not countenance the elimination of religion from the public square. We are a nation 'Under God' and in God, we do indeed trust.
"We should acknowledge the Creator as did the Founders – in ceremony and word. He should remain on our currency, in our pledge, in the teaching of our history, and during the holiday season, nativity scenes and menorahs should be welcome in our public places. Our greatness would not long endure without judges who respect the foundation of faith upon which our constitution rests. I will take care to separate the affairs of government from any religion, but I will not separate us from 'the God who gave us liberty.'

"Americans acknowledge that liberty is a gift of God, not an indulgence of government. No people in the history of the world have sacrificed as much for liberty. The lives of hundreds of thousands of America's sons and daughters were laid down during the last century to preserve freedom, for us and for freedom loving people throughout the world. America took nothing from that Century's terrible wars – no land from Germany or Japan or Korea; no treasure; no oath of fealty. America's resolve in the defense of liberty has been tested time and again. It has not been found wanting, nor must it ever be. America must never falter in holding high the banner of freedom.
"These American values, this great moral heritage, is shared and lived in my religion as it is in yours. I was taught in my home to honor God and love my neighbor. I saw my father march with Martin Luther King. I saw my parents provide compassionate care to others, in personal ways to people nearby, and in just as consequential ways in leading national volunteer movements. I am moved by the Lord's words: 'For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me...'
"My faith is grounded on these truths. You can witness them in Ann and my marriage and in our family. We are a long way from perfect and we have surely stumbled along the way, but our aspirations, our values, are the self-same as those from the other faiths that stand upon this common foundation. And these convictions will indeed inform my presidency.
"Today's generations of Americans have always known religious liberty. Perhaps we forget the long and arduous path our nation's forbearers took to achieve it. They came here from England to seek freedom of religion. But upon finding it for themselves, they at first denied it to others. Because of their diverse beliefs, Ann Hutchinson was exiled from Massachusetts Bay, a banished Roger Williams founded Rhode Island, and two centuries later, Brigham Young set out for the West. Americans were unable to accommodate their commitment to their own faith with an appreciation for the convictions of others to different faiths. In this, they were very much like those of the European nations they had left.
"It was in Philadelphia that our founding fathers defined a revolutionary vision of liberty, grounded on self evident truths about the equality of all, and the inalienable rights with which each is endowed by his Creator.
"We cherish these sacred rights, and secure them in our Constitutional order. Foremost do we protect religious liberty, not as a matter of policy but as a matter of right. There will be no established church, and we are guaranteed the free exercise of our religion.
"I'm not sure that we fully appreciate the profound implications of our tradition of religious liberty. I have visited many of the magnificent cathedrals in Europe. They are so inspired … so grand … so empty. Raised up over generations, long ago, so many of the cathedrals now stand as the postcard backdrop to societies just too busy or too 'enlightened' to venture inside and kneel in prayer. The establishment of state religions in Europe did no favor to Europe's churches. And though you will find many people of strong faith there, the churches themselves seem to be withering away.
"Infinitely worse is the other extreme, the creed of conversion by conquest: violent Jihad, murder as martyrdom... killing Christians, Jews, and Muslims with equal indifference. These radical Islamists do their preaching not by reason or example, but in the coercion of minds and the shedding of blood. We face no greater danger today than theocratic tyranny, and the boundless suffering these states and groups could inflict if given the chance.
"The diversity of our cultural expression, and the vibrancy of our religious dialogue, has kept America in the forefront of civilized nations even as others regard religious freedom as something to be destroyed.
"In such a world, we can be deeply thankful that we live in a land where reason and religion are friends and allies in the cause of liberty, joined against the evils and dangers of the day. And you can be certain of this: Any believer in religious freedom, any person who has knelt in prayer to the Almighty, has a friend and ally in me. And so it is for hundreds of millions of our countrymen: we do not insist on a single strain of religion – rather, we welcome our nation's symphony of faith.
"Recall the early days of the First Continental Congress in Philadelphia, during the fall of 1774. With Boston occupied by British troops, there were rumors of imminent hostilities and fears of an impending war. In this time of peril, someone suggested that they pray. But there were objections. 'They were too divided in religious sentiments', what with Episcopalians and Quakers, Anabaptists and Congregationalists, Presbyterians and Catholics.
"Then Sam Adams rose, and said he would hear a prayer from anyone of piety and good character, as long as they were a patriot.

Hostages Taken at Hillary Clinton's Office
At approximately 1pm on Friday, a man walked into Clinton's headquarters on Main Street in Rochester, New Hampshire and demanded that everyone get down on the floor. He revealed what appeared to be a bomb strapped to him with duct tape. Initially there were 5 hostages, a man and woman with a small baby were released. Two volunteers are still inside. The hostage taker appears to be in his 40's with salt and pepper colored hair.
Communication has been successfully established with the hostage-taker is demanding to speak with Senator Clinton.
Howard Dean has just anounced that Hillary Clinton will not follow her planned schedule for the day and has canceled her 3:30 speaking event in Virginia.
All nearby offices have been evacuated. There are sharpshooters on the roof and police are positioned behind vehicles across the street. It is now being reported that there are two hostages instead of the earlier report of four.
As a precaution, the Obama and Edwards campaign offices have been evacuated. The media is being told to go to profile bank as the area has become overwhelmed with media.
The hostage taker has been idenitified as a local man by the name of Troy Stanley. Stanley had told his son earlier that day to "watch television". His son has told authorities that the reported bomb is not a bomb, that it is roadside flares made to look like a bomb. Stanley is known by locals in the area and is said to have mental problems. Mr. Stanley's ex-wife says that he is a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic and that he has not been taking his medication.
One hostage was seen exiting the building. It is believed that there are one or no hostages left.
UPDATE: 5:26PM ET.. It has been implied that there still may be 2 remaining hostages inside. Troy Stanley has been arrested three time and is well known by local authorities. Family members say that Stanley has been known to go on 72 hour drinking binges and live in the woods at times.
5:45PM ET.. Another hostage who appears to be in her 20's just emerged from Clinton's campaign office. More hostages may still be in the building.
The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 6:15PM ET. It appears that he has several aliases. One of those names is Troy Stanley. Police are now identifying him as Leeland Eisenberg.

The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 6:15PM ET. It appears that he has several aliases. One of those names is Troy Stanley. Police are now identifying him as Leeland Eisenberg.

Pentagon Punishes Soldier for Getting Wounded
Jordan Fox, a young soldier from the South Hills, is one of the many men and woman being ordered to pay back some of the enlistment bonus. Why? Because they were injured and can no longer serve.
Fox received a letter from the military demanding approximately $3,000 of his $10,000 signing bonus after receiving injuries that prohibited him serving. He was injured just 3 months before his service term ended.
Despite this slap in the face by the government, Fox says "I'd do it all over again... because I'm proud of the discipline that I learned. I'm proud to have done something for my country."

Muslim prisoners sue for millions after being offered ham sandwiches
A printing error caused the ham-sandwich listing in a prison during Ramadan and now they are suing. Several things come to my mind. First of all there were other options on the menu to chose from. I myself have dietary restrictions and am exposed to things all the time that I am unable to eat. I just deal with it. The second thing that comes to mind is that if you read the article you will see that some of the muslims decided to eat the ham anyway. If this is the case, then there committment to not eat port couldn't have been that serious if they couldn't get thru one skipped meal. I do not feel this fight is for equal rights or religious tolerance, instead I believe these people are trying to manipulate the system and take as much as they can. They want more than equal rights, they want an elevated status above everyone else.

Marijuana 4 Sale
Recently I wrote a story about how I was surprised to find out that people were selling sex on Craigslis.org. I was completely shocked to see people openly selling there “services” there and they seemed to have their own codes for these different services.
Since that day I have spent some time browsing the other categories that I wouldn’t normally visit. I made my way over to the personals section and opened up the strictly platonic section. Nothing to strange at first but then I noticed that I kept hearing references to people looking for 420 or to hook up with 420.
Not being up to times I decided to do a google search for “code 420” and was surprised to learn that this was a code for marijuana! People are opening advertising that they are looking for illegal drugs on craigslist.org! I don’t know. Maybe I am getting old. Maybe this is considered normal today. I am not sure how to react to this. It is scary to me that we live in a world where such things are going on right in front of our faces. I also can’t help to wonder what other code languages are going on around me that I am completely oblivious to.

California Fires
Alright, California just had the largest evacuation ever. Over a thousand houses were burned down. Several fires were set at about the same time and in different locations. Some of the suspects have been arrested.
Is it just me or does it seem strange that there has been no mention of who these men are that have been arrested. There has been mention of prior warnings of terror plots to do such a thing. Is the government putting a hush on this to keep people from getting freaked out? If these fires were not part of a terror plot then why has no one released the names of any of the men who have been arrested so far?

Rep. Pete Stark Gets Indignant
Today Pete Stark disrespectfully, and against house rules, bashed President Bush stating that Republicans are spending money "to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough … to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."
Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan quickly condemned the comments, saying in a statement they are "an insult to every American, Democrat or Republican."
"The leaders of the Democrat Party, including Nancy Pelosi and their presidential candidates, need to stand up and make it clear that this kind of attack is unacceptable from any elected official," Duncan added. Not one did though.
Pete Stark failed to acknowledge that the failed heath care bill was a result of the inappropriate inclusion that that families up to an annual income of $83 thousand would be included which is 300% past the poverty limit that the bill was supposed to be intended to help.

Jesus Not allowed on Freecycle.org
As a user of the freecyle system I was shocked when I posted an offer for a book that had the word Jesus in the title and got a response from the moderator that my offer could not be posted with the word Jesus in the title. I was told that it against freecycle.org policy and that I could post it as “book”.
For those of you who do not know what freecyle.org is, it is basically a worldwide community system where you can offer stuff that you want to give away instead of throwing it out. You can also list thing that you want and someone can offer it to you.
Today I had many things I was clearing out of my house and I successfully offered them, accept for the book because the mention of Jesus is not allowed on freecycle.org. I think the founders of our country would be absolutely disgusted at what this country is becoming.

Democrats trying to silence Rush Limbaugh with exaggerated claims that he was calling all soldiers “phony” despite the fact that the transcript from the September 26th show proves that he was talking specifically about Jesse MacBeth and despite his long time record of being a strong supporter of the troops.

Their God is No Friend of Mine
I read a frightening news story tonight on worldnetdaily.com about yet another violent murder spree that took place in the name of Allah. This time the outburst happened in Nigeria over rumors that a student had drawn a cartoon of Allah on the walls of the campus mosque. So what happens in Islam when something like this occurs.
If you had guessed, you suspend the student you guessed wrong. If you guessed that you kill 6 Christians, Inury 61 Christians, Destroy 6 Churches and displace about 500 people then you are correct.
The even more frightening thought I had as a result of is that it is only a matter of time before this happens here in our country. I don't know this "god" of theirs and I don't want to. Their god is no friend of mine.

I had heard people talking about craigslist.org being used by prostitutes to solicit their “services” but I had no idea how out of control it was. I thought that it was just an occasional deviant posting improperly until the other day I noticed way at the bottom of craigslist.org was a little title “erotic” under the “services” category. I clicked it and found add after add of people posting naked pictures of themselves offering their “services”.
Some of the stuff I didn’t understand so I had to look up on the internet. There were phrases like “in-call only” and “out-call only”. I discovered that in-call means the person wants the services to be performed at his/her home and out-call means they will go to meet you at a hotel or wherever.
I have used craigslist.org a lot. I have always seen it as a positive asset to our communities. I thought it was awesome that someone would give such a gift away for free but now I find myself having to try to process why the owner would add this section and encourage this section for unlawful activities.
I ran a google search afterwards and found that cops have been tracking these people down and arresting them. In some cases they have even found teenagers trying to use the site to prostitute themselves. This is no longer a community service, this is a threat.
I wrote to craiglist.org under the “submit a comment” section and told them politely how I felt. Being that they have not responded to law enforcements concerns I am not holding my breath to get much of a response.

Duh Democrats Desperation
Democrats are desperate to attack Rush Limbaugh taking comments he said about a “phony soldier” out of context to try to stir up a bunch of controversy. The owners of the show that airs Rush Limbaugh’s show are standing by his side as they have enough sense to see that the democrats are just playing childish games again.

A new bedding line named NAZI, that uses two red swastikas against a black backround has many Jews (and Gentiles) furious. The Search for Chester the Child Molester
The little girl known only as Madison, has been located and is reportedly safe with her mother in Las Vegas. The mother was allegedly unaware of the assault on her daughter. It is reported that on the video the little girl was emotionless as she was victimized with unspeakable sexual acts. Usually this act of dissociation happens after repeated abuse so personally I find it odd that no one knew anything was going on. Concentration Camps - Never Again... Think Again
Since I was a young girl I was taught about the Holocaust and the horrors that happened to millions of people and I always wondered why the world sat by and watched. Now, I am afraid that this is happening again and I wasn’t even aware of it and I am fearful to know that I am living in a time where this can once again happen and the world is sitting by watching.
I came across an article last night on WorldNetDaily.com titled “Concentration camps hold a million people? Nearly 40 'detention' centers reported in North Korea”. I decided to click on it and read it and heard allegations of Christians being held in concentration camps in North Korea where they were being experimented on and killed. I read of a man being told to feed cabbages to about 50 women and after the women ate the cabbages they began screaming and spitting up blood. They then all died.
The article speaks of people being put in gas chambers while scientists take notes about their death. I finished reading the article and half believing said to myself “nah, this can’t be true”. The article stayed with me and just a while ago I decided to do a google search of “North Korea Concentration Camps” and what followed has got me so confused I do not even know where to begin to process the confusion that is going on in my head.
To my shock I came across many more articles with similar allegations claiming that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il and his late father, Kim Il Sung are portrayed as Gods there and are eliminating Christians in these camps who are viewed as their biggest threats. To my disgust I learned that many of these articles go back years. Years that I was not even aware, years that the world has been sitting by while modern day concentration camps are once again gassing families, performing unspeaking human experimentation on people.
They are killing the babies that are born in the camps. Women are being forced to receive abortions by unlicensed doctors. Children are forced to work from early in the morning until late in the evening with very little, if any, food.
I feel sick. I feel powerless. The only thing I know to do at this very moment is to write this and share it with you. Something needs to be done.

No Gays in Iran
Ahmadinejad stated that there are no gays in Iran in his discussion at Columbian University today. In addition to that he said that in women in Iran are more free than anywhere in the world.

I must say that when I heard that Columbia University was allowing Ahmadinejad to speak at their school I was completely appalled. But after hearing Bollinger speak to him in the beginning I began to change my view. I admit it, I was quick to judge. Where else can someone tell him to his face that he is evil? Bollinger’s words to Ahmadinejad actually gave me goose bumps. Among many things he mentioned that the University has many Jewish students, along with over 800 alumni living currently in Israel. He then went on to say “Do you plan on whipping us off the map too”.

Schools Closed Due to Bomb Scares in 12 NJ Towns
Letters were sent out to the mayor in Emerson, NJ which warned that schools would be "blown out". Classes were canceled for 14,000 students. Some private schools decided to close as well.

Why the "Jena 6" March Confuses Me
All moring we have seen on the news people marching in protest and of the 6 black teens that were jailed for beating he heck out of a white teen to the point where he was unconscious. All morning I have heard people being interviewed saying they did not believe that these boys were being treated fairly and that they should not be in in jail.

OK... I am confused. We talk about equal justice. Well... If this had been the other way around, if there was a black teen that had been beated up by 6 white teens everyone would be then screeming that this was a hate crime and demanded that these boys be punished.

First it was dog food, then toothpaste, then childrends toys, now its leukemia drugs. China has recalled tained leukemia drugs after reports of leg pains and other problems.
Despite the fact that their products are hazardous if not deadly, China is still acting like somehow they are a victim. In some caises they are actually blaming the media instead of looking at their failure and lack of concern for human lives and their pets.

Osama told to "Repent of his sins and convert to "Christianity"
Worldnetdaily.com had a story today about an american television evangelist, Bill Keller, who senet an e-mail to Osam bin Laden telling him to "repent of his sins and covert to Christianity".
I actually thought this was a good idea. He communicates with us thru video (or at lest we believe it to be him) so why can't we say whats on our minds to him. I for one am sick of hearing how we should convert to Islam. I don't understand these people who say they are willing to die because we are supposinly living such sinful lives and they want to punish them. I would like to remind these people that the very same men who gave their lives in the name of Allah on 9/11, were seen frequenting strip-clubs just before flying the planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

3 Days to Annihilate Iran
I read an article on worldnetdaily today that said the Pentagon has already formulated a "three-day blitz" plan to annihilate Iran's military. This would include 1200 sites and complete take out their military.
It seems clear that Iran has no desire for peace. They want to destroy Israel. They have publicly admitted to this. They would love to see the US destroyed as well. There can be no negotiations with these people. They have a history of manipulation and game playing to buy them time.
Why allow them the time to become stronger and capable of causing more destruction.
